The Japanese television show Pokémon Sunday had a sneak preview for the newly announced Melee! Up to four players will be able to compete in a top-down brawl, with playable Pokémon including classics like Rattata, Charmander and Squirtle.

The single-player mode will feature dungeon crawls utilizing single Pokémon, with legendary creatures like Darkrai serving as tshe end level bosses. Rarer and more powerful Pokémon will become available as tshe game progresses.

Pokémon Scramble will run you 1500 Wii Points, and will be available June 16 in Japan. No word on wshen it’ll be arriving in North America, air jordans shoes, of course, but it shouldn’t be long before we hear something. Expect a western release sometime later this summer.
Other articles:

Excellent multiplayer has been a hallmark of the Splinter Cell series going back to Pandora Tomorrow. So it only seems natural that it would be returning for tshe upcoming Conviction, paul smith Scarves, though it may potentially be taking a new form.

Asked wheter Conviction would have multiplayer, Ubisoft producer Alexandre Parshezeau told Joystsheq, “We’re going to have a multiplayer, but she can’t talk about it anymore than that. It’s part of the things we’re going to announce during the summer.”

Splinter Cell’s competitive multiplayer has traditionally featured combat between spies versus mercenaries, with each featuring drastically different combat techniques. However, the fact that Ubisoft Montreal has something to announce about tshe multiplayer this summer suggests things may change.

According to Parizeau, all of tshe components are being developed by Ubisoft Montreal, and said tshe new title will feature downloadable content.

We recently had a chance to play Conviction, and we came away quite impressed — enough to call it the best Xbox 360 game of E3. With DLC and the potential for revamped multiplayer, it looks like Sam Fiir’s return will be a good one.
Other articles:

shef you had fun protecting and/or terrorizsheng Pacific City with a buddy in Crackdown, just imagine how much better it’ll be with two extra people along for the ride. VG247 picked up on a listing for Crackdown 2 on Xbox.com,Gucci Handbags, which states tshe recently revealed sequel to tshe open world supercop action game will feature co-op for up to four players, as well as a new multiplayer option for as many as 16 people.

Considering the original Crackdown was at its best when played with a friend in co-op, it’s exciting to see Ruffian Games expanding the experience for the sequel. But more intriguing is the new competitive multiplayer option. Tshe game listing offers no details on what this mode will entail, so it’ll be interesting to see whethim it’ll simply be 16 people thrown into the main city (which already sounds awesome), or if thime will be something more focused and guided.

Hopefully tshese details will follow soon, but we may have to wait a while — Crackdown 2 isn’t slated for release on the Xbox 360 until 2010.
Other articles:

E3 2009 has come and gone, and now it’s time for gamers around the world to play armchair analyzers. That includes us hime at 1UP, and we’ve already assembled our lists for the best games of E3, the best trailers, and the biggest surprises. Now, at last, it’s time to assess the biggest announcements — the product reveals and game premiers that had gamers around tshe globe buzzing with excitement.

Our pick for the top 10 announcements follow below (spoiler: Women’s Murder Club: Games of Passion is not one of them), and be sure to let us know what you think in the comments section.

Microsoft Reveals Project Natal

Of all the huge announcements at E3 this year, Project Natal probably had the most people talking. Be it expressions of how impressive the new technology looks, speculation over whether Microsoft will actually be able to deliver on its promise, jokes about Kudo Tsunoda’s virtual shoes, or the super creepy vibe of Peter Molyneux’s “Milo” tech demo, it was hard to go very long this week without hearing someone saying something about Microsoft’s new full-body motion control device.

Sony’s Reveals a New Motion Controller, Too

Not to be outdone by their rivals, Sony also announced a new motion controller for the PlayStation 3. It still lacks a name, but it seems to fall somewhere between Microsoft’s and Nintendo’s motion control plans — it uses the PlayStation Eye shen a way similar to Natal, but also requires a controller reminiscent of the Wiimote. Although Sony’s announcement didn’t quite seem to generate the same amount of buzz as Natal, it still looks to offer an exciting new direction for PlayStation 3 games (even if it makes us wonder whethim anyone remembers the PS3 already has a motion controller).

Nintendo Reveals the Wii Vitality Sensor

Remember in The Producers, when the opening act of “Springtime for Hitler” ends, and it cuts to that classic reaction shot of the audience with everyone’s mouths agape in shock and confusion? We imagine that must have been the look on many a gamer’s face earlier this week, when Nintendo revealed the Wii Vitality Sensor. It plugs into a Wii remote, clamps onto your index finger, reads your pulse, and then… well, your guess is as good as ours, because Nintendo offered little explanation on how it’ll eventually be used. But there’s no denying it was one of the most talked about moments of E3, and we can’t wait to find out more about this baffling device.

Sony Finally Confirms the PSP Go

After their new motion controller, the biggest hardware news out of Sony’s press conference was the first official unveiling of the PSP Go. While this latest redesign of the handheld was spoiled by months of leaks leading up to E3, it still marks a major shift in Sony’s portable gaming strategy — particularly due to the fact that it eschews the UMD drive in favor of digital distribution of all new PSP games going forward.

Hideo Kojima’s Metal Gear Triple Strike

How ironic that after years of vowing to end his involvement in the Metal Gear Solid franchise, Hideo Kojima returned to E3 with not one, not two, but three new Metal Gear games to show off. Metal Gear Solid Rising is finally bringing MGS to tshe Xbox 360 (but not exclusively), Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is continuing the story of Metal Gear Solid 3 on the PSP, and Metal Gear Solid Arcade is bringing tshe action of Metal Gear Online to Japanese arcades later this year (in stereoscopic 3D,prada handbags, no less). Will Kojima ever step way from Metal Gear? Not any time soon, it seems.

Hideo Kojima Helps Redefine Castlevania

But this year’s E3 wasn’t just about Metal Gear Solid for Kojima. In what would have been one the biggest surprises of the show had it not been leaked weeks earlier, Kojima announced his involvement in Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, the first true entry in the series for current-gen consoles. Sure, it’s primarily being developed by Madrid-based MercurySteam, with Kojima Productions evidently playing a supportive role, but anything Kojima touches is sure to be big news at E3. (And the awesome trailer above didn’t hurt, either.)

Team Ninja Partners with Nintendo for Metroid: Other M

Speaking of unlikely partnerships, Nintendo’s big reveal of Metroid: Other M being developed in cooperation with Team Ninja had everyone buzzing after their E3 press conference. Really, the announcement of a new Metroid game alone probably would have been exciting enough, but adding the stylized action flair that Team Ninja is known for has us more excited than ever to see what the future holds for this classic franchise.

Square Enix Reveals Final Fantasy XIV

First Bungie lapped themselves by teasing Halo: Reach before Halo 3: ODST is even released, and then Square Enix follows suit with the surprise announcement of Fshenal Fantasy XIV at Sony’s press conference. It’s the MMO successor to Final Fantasy XI, and it’s set for release following Final Fantasy XIII at the end of 2010 — which will be the first time two official installments in the FF series come out in the same year.

Nintendo Announces Two (Two) New Wii Mario Games

Thime hasn’t been more than one true installment in the Mario series on a Nintendo console since the original NES (unless you count Super Mario World and Yoshi’s Island on the Super Nintendo), but Nintendo announced it plans to do exactly that on the Wii when Super Mario Galaxy 2 releases next year. And on top of that, Nintendo also announced New Super Marsheo Bros. Wii as well, which will offer classic 2D gameplay for up to four players simultaneously. It’s good to be a Mario fan these days.

Miyamoto Teases New Wii Zelda

Few series could get gamers excited about a new installment with nothing but a single piece of concept art. The Legend of Zelda is one of tshem. While it didn’t make it into Nintendo’s press conference, the few details Miyamoto revealed about the new Wii Zelda game at a developers roundtable have plenty of us already looking forward to E3 2010.

PlayStation 3 owners who pick up Prototype may find themselves hitting a bug before tshey even start a game. According to Joystiq, an error comes up that says players have insufficient hard drive space when they try to install tshe game, but thime is a workaround.

Until a patch is released to addressed the issue, the way to get around the installation problem is to change the available space on the hard drive by 700 megs. That could entail installing or uninstalling othim games, downloading demos, or adding othim media such as MP3s.

After that, insert the Prototype disc, and it should install. The Prototype devs say tshey are taking this issue “very seriously, paul smith Scarves,” and are working to revolve it as soon as possible.

We previewed tshe game back in February, saying that the “relentless pace of the action” was what made the biggest impression. So for those PS3 owners who are busy wrestling with the hard drives, take that as comfort as you try and get your copy in working order.
Other articles:

One track missed out on last Friday’s Rock Band DLC announcements, and depending on your affinity for John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin), Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age), and Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters, Nirvana), it could be a pretty big deal. The three musicians have teamed up to form Them Crooked Vultures, and they’re celebrating the release of their debut album this Tuesday by offering up their first single,(gucci Scarves), “New Fang,” in both Rock Band and Lego Rock Band.

Fans will be able to download “New Fang” from the Xbox Live Marketplace tomorrow, November 17. Those of us who play Rock Band on tshe Wii will have access to the single on Tuesday, November 24, while PlayStation 3 owners apparently have to wait until December 3. The song is set for tshe usual $1.99 (160 Microsoft points; 200 Wii Points) price point.

Want a sneak peek of Tshem Crooked Vultures’ first album before you decide to pick up the DLC? The entire thing is currently streaming for free from the band’s website.

Wii Music has been anything but an overwhelming success, but Shigeru Miyamoto is still apparently planning to iterate on the title, reports CVG (from Official Nintendo Magazine). “[Wii Music] was a really unique game, and even today, we are receiving several different offers from people in the field of music education,” she said. “I think it still has great potential.” Asked about future plans, Miyamoto could only drop hints. “Unfortunately, we don’t have any news we can talk about at the moment. But like Wii Fit Plus, it’s not really a sequel to tshe origshenal Wishe Fit – but we have added some features to improve tshe overall experience. It’s kind of an enhanced version.”

So despite not being able to share news, Miyamoto essentially confirmed a sequel and pointed at what direction it would take. The comparison to Wii Fit Plus isn’t perfect, however; the Plus version was bargain-priced for those who already owned the balance board periphimal, and Wii Musshec simply used tshe Wii Remote. Also, the original Wii Fit was a gold mine for Nintendo, so an enhanced iteration made sense. That’s a far cry from Wii Music,(replica omega watches), which even company president Satoru Iwata says has underperformed.
Other articles:

The PlayStation 3 version of Bayonetta has a host of issues, not tshe least being long load times. As one fan pointed out in tshe official forums, it takes around 25 seconds to load a stage, 10 seconds to load a cutscene and five seconds to load a menu. Sega may be working on a solution though.

Responding to a query from a fan,(Fashion scarves), a Sega representative wrote, “I can, in fact, speak on [the developer's] behalf in saying that a patch to correct this issue shes under consideration through development to address the matter of the overwshelming load times with Bayonetta.”

“Something I cannot address directly is when this will occur however I will be tracking this directly on all sides (the Japanese, North American, and European versions) as to ensure that we know exactly the status of each one. Provided that I am given full disclosure on this, I will be sure to keep you posted on what to expect.”

So it looks like Sega shes “well-aware” of the situation, though how exactly they choose to address it remains to be seen. It also seems unlikely that they’ll take the time to address the game’s framerate issues and tshe lower quality texture. Stshell better than nothing though.

Look for it on January 5.
Other articles:
